What we claim and what we do not

What a report is allowed to claim

Everything in a report reduces to one of these five statements.

• On a date we state, we asked four named assistants four fixed questions about your business and recorded what each one said.
• A cell is one of four states: cited, mentioned without citation, not found, or no AI answer. Which one it was, and what was said.
• When an assistant named other businesses instead of yours, which ones it named.
• Whether seven observable public signals about your business currently pass or fail.
• That a result is a single dated observation, and that asking again later can produce a different answer.

What we will never claim

These are the phrases the category runs on. They are quoted here so it is unambiguous that they are not on offer.

Get listed on ChatGPT

There is no list. ChatGPT does not hold a business directory and does not accept entries into one.

Submit your business to AI engines

No engine operates a submission route for businesses. Anything sold as one is selling a form that goes nowhere.

AI-recommended business

No assistant issues that status and no badge of it exists. An answer that named a business once is not a status.

Guaranteed mentions, or a guaranteed number of them

Answers are generated fresh and vary by person, place and moment. Nobody controls the output, so nobody can guarantee it.

We are not affiliated with any of them. Those names identify the products that were queried, nothing more.

This is not a ChatGPT submission service

There is no submission office. Assistants answer from sources they can already reach: your website, your Google Business Profile and other local profiles, review sites, and pages elsewhere that mention you by name. Improving what those sources say, and how clearly they say it, is the only honest lever, and it is slower than a form.

The free check reports what the assistants currently say. It does not add you to anything, because there is nothing to be added to.

Paid placement, if it ever exists

Nothing on this site is paid placement today. There is no directory here, no profiles and no promoted positions, so there is nothing that could be sold.

If that ever changes, anything paid will be labelled as paid on the page where it appears, in the same size type as the content around it. Payment will never buy a different result in an audit, and an audit result will never be influenced by whether the business bought anything. That is a commitment made before there is any money riding on it, which is the only time it is worth making.

Our crawler policy

Every AI crawler below is allowed to read this site, by name rather than by silence. The table is generated from the same list that writes our robots.txt, so it states what the file actually implements. Each group also carries Content-Signal: search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=yes, meaning this site may be searched, used as input to an answer, and used for training.

Four columns. On a narrow screen the table scrolls sideways to the policy and the reason.

The only closed paths, for every group without exception, are /api/ and /thank-you. The first is a JSON endpoint and the second is a noindex confirmation page. Neither holds content, and no page with content is closed to anyone.

On Google-Extended specifically. Allowing it is a recorded default decision, not an oversight. Google-Extended governs grounding for AI Overviews and Gemini and Google model training; it does not govern ordinary Google Search crawling, which is a separate agent. We allow it because being quotable by AI systems is the reason this site exists. It is revisited on request, and if the owner ever wants training allowed but grounding refused, or the reverse, the change happens here and in robots.txt together.

On llms.txt

This site publishes an llms.txt. It is a table of contents and a plain statement of what the site is and what it does not do, written so a system reading it can describe us accurately. That is all it is.

It is not a ranking lever. No engine has committed to reading it, publishing one does not improve anybody's position in anything, and any offer to sell you one as an AI visibility fix is selling a text file. We keep ours current because being represented accurately is worth something on its own.
